The audit starts at the machine
Four questions your registrar asks on the floor walk, whether you are certified to ISO 9001, AS9100 or IATF 16949.
“Is this the current revision?”
On paper: Somebody walks to the office to check the master list.
The operator scans the tag. It opens the current revision, because that is the only one a tag can open.
“How do you know there is no old copy out here?”
On paper: The copy log, and hoping nobody kept one in a toolbox.
There are no copies. The tag points at the document, so nothing at a machine or workstation can fall behind.
“Was this operator trained on Rev D?”
On paper: Somewhere in the training binder.
Open the register. Every operator who signed for Rev D, with the date, and everyone who has not.
“Can I get a copy of that?”
On paper: Give us a day to pull it together.
Hand it over as a PDF. With a worklist of who still owes a sign-off.
What the operator sees
The printout ends up under a keyboard by Thursday. This opens at the machine or workstation on the operator’s phone or a shop tablet, with no app and no login.
Warnings stand out. DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and NOTE stand out in color and in words, instead of gray body text.
- Each operator signs for the rev on the phone. The register shows who has not.
- A tag can point at a folder, so one tag opens the changeover, the daily check and the lockout sheet.
- Past a review date, the operator sees a banner telling them to check with a supervisor.
- From any tag the whole library is a tap away, searchable down to the text inside each file.

What shops ask
- My guys are not installing an app. Is this an app?
- No, it is a web address behind a QR code, opened with the phone camera. The one-time step is typing a short shop code, about ten seconds per phone.
- Do we have to retype our setup sheets?
- No. Upload the Word files and PDFs you have. Typed ones are converted for a phone, and scans open as the original.
- Half the shop has no signal by the back wall.
- Then it opens the copy the phone saved the last time it had signal, and says how old it is. Signing waits until signal is back.
- Are the tags included?
- Yes. Durable tags for machines and workstations ship with the subscription, and a damaged one is replaced free. Paper tags print from the app if you need one today.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- Editing stops until you subscribe. Your tags keep opening documents for 7 more days, so nothing on a machine goes dark overnight.
- What happens when somebody quits?
- Rotate the shop code and their phone stops working the next time it asks for anything. You can also revoke one phone on its own.
- Who can see our documents?
- Phones and tablets enrolled with your shop code, and nobody else. Scan a tag from outside the shop and you get a private screen, not the document.
- Phones are not allowed on our floor.
- Put a shop tablet at the cell. Each operator taps their name to sign, and the register shows it was signed on the tablet.
- What about setup sheets that change on the floor mid-job?
- Upload the marked-up version as a new revision. The tag on the machine already points at it, and everyone shows as unsigned against the new rev until they sign.
- Will this hold up in a surveillance audit?
- The register shows, per document and per revision, who confirmed and who has not. Sign-offs are collected from day one and cannot be edited afterward.
